Murder on Platform Four A Tate and Bell Mystery by Irina Shapiro

After years of estrangement Sebastian will finally be making amends or at least trying too with his brother Simian. To that end he heads to Paddington Station nervous but hopeful. Almost as soon as he arrives though he finds that a porter has made a truly gruesome discovery; trunk containing a woman's body had been found she a few minutes before her arrival stabbed through the heart by a bodkin. Sebastian is desperate to connect with Simian, but murder comes first and this one hit far closer to home than Sebastian and Gemma would like.

This one was a really quick read that to an extent seems like a filler episode in a series, I enjoyed it don't get me wrong but it really just allows the story to move forward in terms of Gemma and Sebastian's relationship. We also get introduced to Sebastian's big brother Simian, who we meet very briefly, comes across as a bit of a jerk but certainly not as bad as I thought he was going to be.

Mystery wise this was really fast so it wraps up pretty quickly and thanks to the handful of clues we get early on it's pretty easy to narrow down who the killer is, it's not as twisty and turny as previous books, but like I said I think it was more about establishing a timeframe for our lovebirds to start their lives together more than anything.

The killer though is definitley great because he's so absolutely whiny. When he's doing is confession he admits to sleeping with his victim because she reminded him of his mom and like eww. His whole reasoning for killing his victims is just pathetic and the awful thing is just sheer luck and hubris on his part that he was caught as quickly as he was.

We are up to book six I believe and it is load on my Kindle ready to read because decisions were made in this book and I genuinely can't to see what's waiting for Tate and Bell next!

As always thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the eArc!
