Dai Dark Vol. 1 by Q Hayashida


Zaha Sanko's bones grant wishes, which means everyone in the universe is out to kill him. Which is easier said than done with his bestie Avakian by his side (or on his back literally) Zaha will take on anyone who gets in his way in order to find the person who placed this curse on him and kill them. 

Omg this was so weird in the absolute best ways! Zaha and Avakian come from a black hole, spacelings (people?) can modify their bodies to have three heads, they make money by selling the bones and skin of the spacelings they kill to an arms dealer in the black hole, Zaha's hides his armor as underwear so people cant steal it...like I could go on. It's just weird and also oddly cute and hilarious. Zaha and Avakian are almost like siblings, so they take care of each other, but Avakian is also clearly the smart ass older sibling. Oh, and they meet Death, who is definitely like no Death I've ever come across. 

I'll definitely be picking up Vol. 2 of this one because I have a feeling Zaha and Avakian are going to have some hilarious, heartwarming, and well bloody adventures!

The Ghost Princess by M. Walsh

When a strange set of occurrences lead a group of complete strangers on a collision course where half of them want the world to end, the other half want to save it, and one man in particular just really isn't supposed to be here a hero will emerge...okay I'm lying a girl with a serious case of PTSD, a half Succubus half Orc demon, and a man with a curse will emerge and well fuck some shit up, which will definitely result in the world being saved. At least for the moment.  Holy fuck this was hands down the surprise 5 star read of the year for me. And I'm going to be completely honest every review prior to mine is what made me move it to the very tippy top of my TBR, because I had barely read the prologue and was already hooked when when I saw some of the ratings.  Ghost Princess was absolutely unlike anything I have ever read and yet reminded me of some of my favorite books and anime. Katrina has decided to see if the survivors of Vigor will accept her back, which doesn't go over very well, as a kind of peace offering one of the surviving Nobles tells her Jagger her boyfriend from before the war is alive. With nothing to lose and everything to gain Katrina sets off to find Jagger.  In the meantime, Krutch and Arkady are once again tracked down and after getting away (by tumbling off a cliff) he finds himself in a weird Mission, with a weird woman who is far too interested in him.
